Banco de España (1856- )

The Law of 28 January 1856 renamed the Banco Español de San Fernando as the Banco de España. During the Spanish Civil War, the Bank split into two separate institutions, controlled, respectively, by the Government of the Republic and the Nationalist forces, each with its own governing body. The Bank was nationalised by Decree-Law 18/1962 of 7 June 1962.

Banco de España publications, in addition to a selection of related works, can be accessed via Banco de España, within the Bibliographic Heritage collection.
