Selected historical time series

The selected time series collection, together with the discontinued data series collection and the re-edited time series collections, is part of the Banco de España’s “Historical Statistics for Researchers” project. The collection comprises other datasets which include an extract of the time series contained in the other collections in the project. Its aim is to present together the most significant data series which cover the longest period of the most important economic variables. The other two collections in the project provide more detailed or alternative information to that presented in this collection.

The selection of time series for this collection does not mean that their quality has been assessed by the Banco de España or that they should prevail over other alternative time series. The aim of this collection is to facilitate the consultation of time series, simply for information purposes. During the collection process, the Banco de España endeavoured to collect the raw data as faithfully as possible. Nevertheless, the presence of errors cannot be ruled out. The Banco de España is not responsible for any problem arising from the use of these data series.
