Securities certificates

The collection of securities certificates is made up mainly of corporate shares and bonds, and public debt securities, mostly Spanish. As for the former, almost all sectors of commercial activity are represented: financial, mining, iron and steel, maritime and land transport, shipping, food and pharmaceuticals, among others.

Regarding public debt, there are securities of almost all state issues and many of the municipal and regional ones. As a whole, the collection constitutes a good representation of the Spanish business and financial system, as well as of the modes of financing of the State between the mid-19th and mid-20th centuries. A total of 2,280 commercial titles are available in the repository. In order to facilitate searches, the use of the subjects included in the descriptive records is recommended.
