Banco de Isabel II

It was created in 1844 by private initiative as a commercial bank with the power to issue banknotes. In 1847 it merged with the Banco de San Fernando. This collection assembles records of the Banco de Isabel II, in addition to other documents produced by the Bank throughout its existence. The latter include its constituent documents. Archival documents relating to the Banco de Isabel II can be accessed within the Historical Archive collection at Banco de Isabel II (1844-1847).
